Monday & Tuesday:  no school

Wednesday:  Today students went over comparing and ordering fractions and decimal fractions.

Thursday:  Students completed the page in their comp. book that covers percents.  The section will be completed during the ratio unit that is coming up.  Afterward, students modeled a couple of percents on grids and then working with their shoulder-partner worked on a work sheet that requires them to really focus on the percent sense to solve the problems.

Friday:  Students completed part of a comp. book page on converting fractions to decimals and percents.  Students then worked on converting fractions to decimals and percents using two different methods.  The first method was writing an equivalent fraction with a denominator of 100 and then writing as a decimal and then a decimal.  The second method was dividing the numerator and the denominator to get the decimal form and then changing to a percent.  Students then practiced using the conversion function on calculators.
